Clinical history :
A 40-year-old woman with cough was found to have a left lower lobe mass that involved the pleura and extended around the aorta. Pneumonectomy was performed because of the extent of lung involvement although some residual mass was left around the lower thoracic aorta. The patient had a prior history of "uterine sarcoma" three years earlier.
